MEGA, The New MegaUpload Is Here

MegaUpload is a free file sharing site where anyone who has access to the internet can upload and store various files for whatever purpose or use. Also, everyone can download these files as long as they know its web address or URL.

I don't remember using MegaUpload to store any of my files but I'm very familiar with it because I often use one of its sister site called MegaVideo to watch movies, animes, videos and television series online. If you were looking for a certain movie or vide then MegaVideo was a good place to look for one.

MEGA, The Pricacy Company

Unfortunately, MegaUpload and all its sister sites are no more. The US Federal Bureau of Investigation shut it down for allegedly pirating intellectual properties. I find this action of the FBI weird because sites like MediaFire, FileFactory, etc. are also used by many internet users to distribute intellectual properties illegally. While video sharing sites like YouTube, DailyMotion and others are filled with copyrighted movies and videos.

So, why are these other sites still operating? Shouldn't the FBI also shut them down for illegally distributing intellectual properties?

Anyway, MegaUpload maybe gone but its owner is back with a new file sharing website and it's called MEGA. The owner, Kim Dotcom, is marketing this new website as "The Privacy Company" because of the way it stores files.

You see, files stored in MEGA are encrypted and only the owners or uploaders of the files have the decryption keys needed to unlock them. This way, MEGA can deny any knowledge of what its users or members are uploading since MEGA won't have access to any of them.

Anyway, I'm not particularly interested with MEGA but I'm somewhat interested with how this new venture will affect Mr. Kim Dotcom's current legal issues.

If you are interested in learning more Kim Dotcom's MEGA then check it out at www.mega.co.nz.
